The establishment of the Darwin branch followed having been awarded a contract for scaffolding access works for the refurbishment of the Stokes Hill Wharf in Darwin. A key focus for Pilbara Access is to build a successful branch here in Darwin with the same principles that have been adopted throughout the Pilbara, with a major focus on health and safety.
Pilbara Access was approached by an existing client in the Northern Territory to assist in the refurbishment work on Stokes Hill Wharf Darwin. Through our extensive knowledge with Jetty refurbishments we worked with our client to:
The job commenced on the 9th of August when the first truck load arrived to the Stokes Hill Wharf and the first four bays were built.
Our main focus on the project is to erect the scaffolding to undertake Painting and Blasting of the jetty legs. The scaffold has been built in separate modules the dimensions of each module is 7m by 12m. To complete the job efficiently there is up 10 modules erected at any one time. Once we reach the half way point the wharf triples in size to approximately 30 meters wide.
To date we are ahead of schedule and committed to the jetty refurbishment on an ongoing basis for the next 12 months.
